Corrections

Getting it right matters more than getting it first. When we make a mistake, we fix it and say so.

How corrections work

• Factual errors are corrected as soon as they're confirmed, with a note at the bottom of the story saying what changed and when.
• If a source we relied on issues its own correction, we update our summary to match and note it.
• Updates that add new information, without fixing an error, are shown with the story's "Updated" date.
